Al-Azhar Community
Design Meets Urban Functionality
Al Azhar Foundation held a grand opening event for its new masjid and community center in November 2025. the celebration took place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, with guided tours, prayers, introductory remarks, Qur’an recitation, and community fellowship — marking the official opening of the facility for the local Muslim and broader Westfield community. This new center serves as both a place of worship and a community hub offering prayer services, education programs (like Quran and Arabic classes), youth activities, and spaces for gatherings and events.
Beyond its functional elements, the design of Al-Alazhar fosters a strong sense of belonging and connection. Public gathering spaces and a cafe offer opportunities for casual interaction, while diverse activity areas encourage shared experiences across age groups and interests. By prioritizing community needs throughout the design process, this project has become more than just a recreation center; it is a physical embodiment of Westfields' commitment to health, wellness, and a thriving communal spirit.
